We all know the CCTV camera can be consisted by different CCD, like Sony CCD, Sharp CCD , and CMOS.

CCD cameras are more widely used by most clients, as this technology become more mature in the market. Besides, at present the image effect of CCD and CMOS has been reduced a lot. The cost of CMOS , power consumption are lower than CCD, so many cameras manufacturers use CMOS sensitive element.

On one hand , Imaging aspects: in the same pixel CCD is with high imaging permeability, acutance are also good, color rendition, exposure can be guaranteed.

On the other hand, CMOS camera with lower imaging permeability, the ability of color reduction is weaker , and exposure are not too good, Because of their own physical characteristics, there are still some distance between them, But CMOS will be a wider trend by improving its technology in Security lines. Why ? Because of the low price and high integration.

Today I will give a brief introduction about CCTV camera lens. We all know, the Lens is an essential part of CCTV camera, like our eyes which can catch the object. The different point is : our eyes can view really objects, but the camera will catch image depend on in different environment. For example: it will show yellow in dark Yellow -fluorescent lamp.

Normally: we use 3.6mm/6mm/8mm/12mm/16mm/25mm/30mm/60mm Lens
What we should pay attention to is all these number above are the focal length , not the physical dimension

Applications:

1. Wide-angle lens: perspective:>90°focus length: 2.5mm; 2.8mm
2. Standard lens: perspective about:30°, this kind of Lens are widely used.
3. Zoom length: min focal length:6mm, max :45°. the focal length can be adapted to enlarge or narrow the image by adjusting the position of the focus. (moving the relative position of the lens) The longer the focal length, the broader the horizontal field of view, and  the bigger the image.
4. Pinhole lens: Always be used for covert observation, often be installed in such as ceiling or wall place, etc .Like our Mini camera and Spy camera.
5. Long focal length lens: like 60mm,135mm etc, these two types of lens can be applied to working environment where a broad and spacious view is required, for instance, dock, square, stations, ect.

Effective viewing distance: A < B
Field of view: A>B
Applicable working environment: A: narrow targeted space, like lifter or room where big angle of view is required.  B: open and spacious environment

How to Test A CCTV Camera

How to Test A CCTV Camera

We need below equipment for testing a CCTV camera.
Light Box, Gamma Chart, Resolution Chart, Color Bar, Vector Scope, Waveform and OSC Scope(>800TVlines)
First of all, what the specification we need to test a CCTV camera? Usually it is camera resolution, color, gray scale performance.
For a neccessery, we need a test chart. As below:

1 After placing the test chart, take the camera facing to the test centers, adjusting the distance of the camera and the test chart until the picture displayed take up the full screen, it is so-called, " test chart four angle into the chart ", remember to start it if the monitor has the “Under-scan function”, At this step you need to ensure your camera power is connected, and connect to the monitor. Ensure the monitor power light is on!
2 if possible, placed a lamp to each side of the testing chart, from a 45 degree angle to the chart, make the chart surface with a uniform illumination light, this will make you test easier.
3 Turn off the camera backlight compensation ( BLC ),and automatic gain (AGC ), white balance in ATW, if have not the switch, then ignored, continue the testing: cut to AES or CCD-IRIS ( manual lens is installed with the first gear), the lens aperture to the max, adjust the focal length, make the image to the clearest, then you can test chart for having an intermediate ring radially, marked Focus Target that codes for focusing.

Remember, please ensure test chart is filled full the screen.( four angle into the chart ).

How to Select CCTV Camera

Do you know how to select CCTV camera? From this article, Borsche will fully analysis it  for you.

1.Dome or Bullet?
Dome camera is like half ball, so it is called Dome camera. Dome cameras are always small and look pretty, thus they are suitable for offices, lifts, stairs space and so on so fourth, where there the space is not big.
Bullet cameras look like bullet. They can be used in the district where there is not sufficient light and users just want to monitor the sight. There is no difference between dome camera and bullet camera on performance. They just look different and are used in different places.

2.Which lens would we choose?
There are 2.8mm, 3.6mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 12mm, 16mm and 25mm lens.
1)Wide angle lens with viewing angle of over 90 degree: 2.8mm, 2.5mm. These are usually used in lift, halls.
2)Viewing angle of over 60 degrees: 3.6mm, 4mm. The objects within 5 meters can be seen clearly.
3)Viewing angle of over 50 degrees: 6mm. The objects 8-10 meters can be seen clearly.
4)Viewing angle of over 40 degrees: 8mm. The objects between 10-20 meters can be seen clearly.
5)Viewing angle of over 30 degrees: 12mm, 16mm. The objects between 20-30 meters can be seen clearly.
6)Viewing angle of over 60 degrees: 25mm The objects between 30-50 meters can be seen clearly.
Varifocal lens is another choice, and it can be proper for many different situations.

3.How Long distance of IR range should we choose?
About this we can adjudge how long we want to monitor. Then we can choose the IR range as the same as lens. The IR range should be matched with the lens. For example, if we choose 3.6mm lens, then15M-20M IR range is enough. Otherwise, it is wasted.

4.Why the same looking cameras cost different in the market?
Yes, the housing may the same. But there must be different inside. Many factories take A1 or Sharp CCD camera instead of Sony CCD. A1 is much cheaper than Sony. And they may also used LED lights made in China instead of the ones imported. Their prices are quite different. And so are the other electronic parts. But Borsche will not do that fake things. We only use the superior material, not only CCD but also cables. Just users open the housing, they can see what the quality is.

What is IP Camera

IP camera is a digital equipment, which bases on the network. It has traditional video connector BNC, besides has network connector that is usually RJ45. So IP camera can easily be connected to LAN even WAM.

IP camera not only provide the functions which analogue camera has, but also save many costs on surveillance system. That’s because IP cameras can be connected to the current LAN directly. But with the techology developing, CMOS camera is becoming better and better, and its price is also becoming better and better.

The Assembling Procedures of Borsche CCTV Camera

Today, we will talk about the assembling procedures of Borsche CCTV camera.

The components of CCTV camera are PCB board, lens, housing and output cables. The PCB board carries CCD and DSP chips which are the most important parts in CCTV camera.

We have our own SMT machines in a separated room. Most of mounted parts are joined on PCB boards at the SMT lines. When the PCB boards have been finished, they are sent to the assembling workshop and tested by QC. Once there is no problem, we keep them in the ageing room for 12 hours. Because we should make sure the PCB boards work well. Then we composite the PCB board, lens and housing along with IR LEDs when we produce IR series. IR LEDs and light sensitivity resister are joined on a PCB board.

Borsche use the LEDs which are imported from Taiwan. After that we will do some tests, such as temperature tests, humidity tests and also waterproof tests. We must make sure every our product can work at certain temperature and humidity, such as temperature of -20℃ to 40℃ and humidity of 95%.

Once the composition is finished, we keep the products in the aging room for at least 48 hours. When the aging test finished, QC will inspect the CCTV cameras 100%. Finally when the packing is finished, QC will inspect products randomly. Once the finished products pass the final test, they are allowed to be stocked.

The Image Sensor of CCTV Camera

As we all know that there are mainly two kinds of CCTV camera image sensor on the market, which are CCD and CMOS. For the CCD, the most common ones we usually see are the Sony CCD, Sharp CCD, A1, and so on. Of course besides that we also should not forget about the CMOS.
