There are many cheap IR CCTV Cameras in the market. Many customers would receive many offers like one IR CCTV Camera costs just 10 USD. That’s true. That camera definitely just costs 10 USD. The manufacturer use cheap housing, unqualified IR LED and not complied RoHS PCB board. They save every cent as much as possible, ignoring the quality. These cameras are always referred to 420TVL CMOS IR CCTV Cameras.
So many disadvantages belong to this kind of camera. First, its image quality is very poor. There are so many noises of which S/N is less than 45dB. Second, it use CMOS sensor which will absorb too much red lights. It causes the image violating the true color too much. Third, the life span of the cheap LED is much shorter than the qualified one. It seldom has problem in one year, but after one year some problem probably happens.
Borsche don’t like to provide products of week quality, because Borsche believe that only long-term used products are cost effective. Such as the shoes, qualified ones can last several years, but the cheap ones only have several month lifespan.
So in Borsche’s price list, you won’t see 420TVL CMOS CCTV Camera. They make CMOS cameras, but 600TVL resolution. This high resolution provide specific image. Meanwhile, Borsche’s CMOS cameras have IR Cut filter, which will cut off infrared in daytime to prevent color violation and let infrared go through to gain better B/W image. Borsche also use IR LED made in Taiwan. Better quality, longer lifespan.
To surprise us, the prices of Borsche’s IR CCTV Cameras are not much higher than those cheap ones.
